the love of a friend

Being alone in a world that seems not to care
With no one to confide in or to get help from out there
When the world seems to be coming to an end
That’s when you really need the love of a friend.

When the person you thought you cared tor leaves you
And your mind tells your heart there’s nothing you can do
How will you ever get your broken heart to mend
This is when you need the love of a friend.

You struggle along with your life as best you can
Trying to keep above water like every other man
When the world a bombshell on you does send
Once again you need the love of a friend.

A love that has no limits or conditions
It can help you in all kinds of positions
More than anything else do I depend
In times of trouble the love of a friend

One Response to the love of a friend

Oh how true this is! Sadly, when we need a friend most we often can’t find one. People don’t like watching a friend suffer and they often fear it for themselves. It is easier stay in our bubble or walk away, than it is to feel pain along with another person. However, God wants us to “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” Romans 12:15
