health care blues

A man with cancer that has no cure

Who can’t get the help that he needs
Because the state says it costs too much
To do surgery, so the cancer grows and bleeds

Slowly the cancer eats away at him
Disfiguring him as it spreads and grows
And still the state says it won’t pay
What will be the result only God knows

Still the man lives with the pain
Because he won’t give up or quit
Even though treatment can’t be done
In the state budget it doesn’t fit

So where do we go from this point
To help those who may fall in this crack
A health care system is needed for one and all
Even those who proper insurance lack
