look at us

A man without a home of his own
A mother with no food for her child
And teenagers out on the streets not know
This is the streets crazy and wild

A child sits on the corner asking for change
A woman at the welfare office for food stamps
Two men trying to find a job in any pay range
All of them are called lazy, bums or tramps

These are people who live on the street
We are the ones who need assistance
Not over looked or looked at with conceit
We just want your help not resistance

You might find yourself in our shoes
Sooner than you think you might
All that I’m asking is that you choose
And let your heart tell you what’s right
